While the process is simple, it does require a little preparation. To ensure you get in, you must book your tickets to the Anne Frank House in advance for a specific date and time. Here’s everything you need to know to secure your tickets to this historic site.
Each year, nearly one million people visit the Anne Frank House. However, due to the museum’s limited size (housed in a narrow, historic canal house) only a small number of tickets are available. The museum operates on a strict schedule, with all tickets reserved for pre-booked time slots. This applies to all visitors, including children (ages 0-9) and discount card holders.
Here you can buy international train tickets to Paris , Brussels , Bruges and other destinations from Amsterdam or Schiphol airport. Book a hotel near Anne Frank house.Starting January 2025, ticket prices are as follows:
Adults €16 Children (ages 10-17) €7 Children (under 10) €1 Dutch Museum Card holders €1Please note that the I amsterdam City Card is not valid at the Anne Frank House.
Visiting the Netherlands in summer? Make sure you also book tickets to the other popular venues and museums (the Van Gogh Museum , the Rijksmuseum ) in advance.
Van Gogh museum tickets are sold out: what to do? Do Rijksmuseum tickets ever sell out? Combi-tickets: get a discountTickets are exclusively available through the official website . They go on sale every Tuesday at 10:00 AM local Amsterdam time, for the entire week six weeks later .
Tip: Be mindful of the time difference and set an alarm so you don’t miss the release. Tickets tend to sell out quickly, especially during peak seasons (March to October). There’s also a chance you’ll be placed in an online queue before you can complete your booking. If that happens, make sure you have your credit card ready.
Recently, the museum has started releasing extra tickets for the week immediately following the Tuesday release . If you don’t see tickets for the next week, don’t give up. Keep refreshing until at least 10:30 AM to check for any additional availability.
The Anne Frank House offers two ticket options:
Regular museum visit : Includes entry to the museum and a free audio guide available in 9 languages. The visit takes around 60 to 75 minutes. Introductory program + regular visit : In addition to the regular museum tour, this ticket includes a 30-minute video presentation about Anne Frank before the museum tour begins, with an audio guide. Both tickets are valid for a specific time slot, with a 15-minute window for entry. It’s important to arrive on time, as late arrivals will not be allowed entry due to capacity limits.
We also recommend visiting:
The Dutch Resistance Museum which focuses on broader wartime experiences and resistance The National Holocaust Museum which provides a specific view on the persecution of Jews in the Netherlands during World War II.Both museums offer valuable insights into this critical period of history and are located less than one kilometer away from each other.
The Ten Boom Museum in Haarlem dedicated to The Hiding Place, the subject of a book by Corrie ten Boom. You can view the actual place where Jews were sheltered during World War II.If you’re also planning to visit other top attractions in Amsterdam, like the Van Gogh museum or the Rijksmuseum , it’s wise to book those tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
We recommend Tours & Tickets , a local Amsterdam-based tour company, and two reputable tickets websites Tiqets.com and GetYourGuide.com .
